Varun is a final-year undergraduate student studying Genetics and Global Health through the Integrated Sciences program at the University of British Columbia. His desire to explore the intersection between research and health policy in improving the lives of children worldwide drew him to the Play Outside UBC Lab, led by Dr. Mariana Brussoni, where he is a Research Assistant with the PRO-ECO study. Varun is also involved elsewhere in SPPH with the Global Control for HPV-Related Diseases and Cancer team, led by Dr. Gina Ogilvie, where he is an Undergraduate Student Researcher. Beyond his undergraduate studies, Varun aims for a career in pediatrics as a clinician-researcher. In his free time, Varun enjoys playing and watching soccer, reading books, and spending time with friends and family.
